The new Hardy Marksman is a strong, yet considerably lighter blank that has been matched with an all new reel seat that further accentuates the weight reduction and promotes an almost weightless in hand feel. I visited Sportfish Reading to try the Hardy Marksman 9' 6# rod just after Christmas. The conditions were awful but the rod was extremely accurate despite this. It felt responsive and really nice to cast. I also tried the 10' 7# which was even better in the conditions. In the end, I bought both and couldn't be happier. Big thanks to Josh and Robin for organizing things.
