The RIO GOLD has a revolutionary taper design that gives incredible loop stability at distance, a unique profile that allows a rod to load at close range and a front taper that delivers perfect presentation of flies between sizes #22 and #2.
The RIO Gold is the ultimate all-round, floating line for the trout fly fisher and is built with "MaxFloat Tip" technology, RIO's proprietary tip coating formula that floats more than twice as high as regular line tips, without any increase in diameter.
In addition, this line is built with SlickCast, creating the slickest, most durable coating on the market—producing the least amount of friction ever measured in a fly line.
The slick coating also allows anglers to fish more effectively as line slides out of the guides with less friction for extended drag-free drifts. Additionally, SlickCast continuously releases essential slickening agents that migrate to the line’s surface. This ensures that the line remains as slick as the day it was made giving anglers many years of high performance and easy distance. As for durability, SlickCast’s proprietary formulation produces the toughest and most durable fly line coating in the world. Lab tests show that a line built with SlickCast lasts 140% longer in abrasion testing and lasts 33% longer when testing a fly line for cracking, that is one tough fly line.

A superb performing fly line , you'll feel immediately the superior quality just sleeding it between your fingers , you'll not have any more the impression that the line is getting sticky to the rod rings , on fishing precision and buoyancy are just outstanding .

Have an excellent rod, reel but needed a good quality line did some research and chose RIO GOLD WF 5 great line welded loops on rod and leader ends, the line diameter seems thinner. Loaded easily onto my reel appropriate leader and off to the river Test. The line was so easy to cast it gives great presentation , floats nice and high just a gentle stroke an the line shoots out, lovely straight casts as an old novice when I latched into a beautiful brown felt every pull so great for feel casting. Best line I have. Complimentary comments from others on the beat on increased ability of my casting. Definitely recommend this line
