The majority of rivers in the UK are now open for salmon fishing and our tuition manager, Tom Festing A.A.P.G.A, was recently on the River Tyne at Bywell running one of our hugely successful spring salmon fishing courses.
In addition to teaching our guests how to deliver the perfect Spey cast, and guiding them to springers to 15lb, he took time out to look in detail at his approach to spring salmon fishing in a brilliantly informative two-part video covering the essential clothing and tackle choices you need to ensure you catch more salmon at this time of year.
Course attendee Graham Gannon caught a stunning springer (pictured left) and sent us in these wonderful comments: "Firstly a massive thank you to all those who were involved in the spring salmon course. I had a fantastic time and learnt so much about fishing rivers in general.
Joining this trip was a great way to meet likeminded people as I am relatively new to salmon fishing. What a kick start to my year, landing a cracking spring salmon of 15lbs. The instructors from Sportfish taught me a great deal and the ghillies and facilities at the beat were excellent. Sportfish served up this great course, in impeccable style, so well done guys! I would thoroughly recommend one of these courses to anybody looking to enhance and develop their fishing and castingskills. I look forward to trying out the skills learned on this course within my fishing over the coming seasons."
