RIO’s quality braided Dacron backing features high strength and low stretch. The hollow core makes it easy to knot and blind splice.

Colours Available: White, Yellow, Blue, Black, Green, Pink and Red

Sizes Available: 20lb and 30lb

  • High strength and low stretch
  • A good compromise between thinness and the ability to make blind splice loops
  • Easier to knot than other brands that are very thin but have too tight a weave for a blind splice

I purchased a new fly ...

I purchased a new fly fishing reel and it came with 5 spools so decided to get different colours backing for each fly line so that at a quick glance I can identify each line easier just by the backing line colour. RIO backing is a great choice as it's strong and very supple I wouldn't hesitate in recommending it to other anglers. The 100M spools were perfect as they went on perfectly and the fly line sits perfectly on my new fly reels .
