Baits presented off the bottom ‘Zig’ style can be irresistible to lethargic winter carp. In conjunction with this sort of set up try spodding sloppy groundbait over the top to cloud the water and encourage feeding.

 

 

 

Step 1 - Add your ingredients to a large bucket – crushed hempseed is the secret ingredient.

Step 2 - Mix all of the dry ingredients together so they’re well blended.

Step 3 - Add plenty of water and leave the whole lot to stand for 20 minutes. The bait will dry out as it absorbs water.

Step 4 - You can also add liquid attractants at this stage if you wish.

Step 5 - Add more water to create a slop that’ll hold in the spod for the duration of the cast.

Step 6 - Fill your spod and cast it over your zig hook baits. Bites can be instant.
