Morphie Beat, North Esk
For 2018, we are delighted to bring you a new salmon fishing course on an exceptional beat of the North Esk.
Morphie is a low river beat offering 1.5 miles of double bank fishing and is historically one of the finest beats on the river, indeed one of the finest spate river beats in all Scotland! It is situated just half a mile off the tide, so even on the lowest water there is a great chance of seeing fresh fish running.
This is a 4-rod beat in the summer months and it affords a great opportunity to practice both double and single-handed disciplines, with small double-handers ideal with a decent height of water and singles when there is low water.
The fishing benefits from a lodge that's perfectly located just a few hundred yards from the middle of the beat. It has 5 double bedrooms and 3 bathrooms and is adjacent to a rod room that houses all the facilities you will require during your stay.
Tom Festing (AAPGAI) and the local beat ghillie, Mike, will be on hand from 9am - 5.30pm throughout the duration of your stay but you are more than welcome to fish early and late, if you wish.
- 4 nights’ bed and breakfast accommodation at Morphie Lodge.
- All fishing, 3 days’ guiding and instruction
- Arrive 25th July after 3pm.
- Fish on the 26th, 27th and 28th July.
- Depart from the lodge by 10am on 29th July.
