  • Expensive, but worth every penny (if you can afford it) Review by WSP/GFC Dry Fly Only
I like to keep things simple & lightweight. I don't have loads of rods, reels, spools, lines, etc. I've distilled my skills & my fishing techniques down to a rather minimalist level.

Admittedly, the Click is rather expensive for a small Trout reel, but it's worth every penny from my point of view, especially for the joy of ownership.

When in the shop, I was accused of being a 'Tackle Tart' because I turned down a £90 Reddington that would "do the same job", but I've been fishing with a Lamson Waterworks ULA Purist 1 for the last 10 years, and there was no comparison between the Sage & the Reddington for quality, feel & smoothness.

I bought this Click 0/1/2 reel to use on a 5'-0" #2 brook rod that I use on tiny trout streams, and it's absolutely perfect. Now I will invest in a Sage 'Little One' 8'2" #2, and I plan to use the same reel to fish small rivers. I'm so impressed with the Click series that I will now buy a 3/4/5 for a #4 line and match it with a new 9'-10' rod for larger rivers.

If you can't afford it, then by all means, buy something else, but if you can afford the money, invest in one of the finest trout reels every made! (Posted on 13/04/2017)
