A powerful new fly rod from Hardy designed for the most challenging of fishing conditions.
If you’re faced with extreme wind, require serious distance casts or have to throw bulky flies, this rod is made for you. The Ultralite® X rises to those challenges with a significantly faster action than Hardy’s standard Ultralite® rods and a super-fast recovery rate for driving tight loops forward with precision. The rod’s powerful butt section has been designed for lifting sunk lines, throwing lines with aggressive front tapers and for putting some serious pressure on hard fighting fish.
I recently bought the 6-weight 9' and consider it to be an absolutely stunning rod with excellent cosmetics and superb performance as a fishing tool. It is light and responsive but seriously powerful for a 6-weight. It is now my go-to rod for fishing dries from boats or bank at home in Ireland and anywhere else that I may venture in future. Faultless.
I purchased the 9 #5, I would like just to say: .... standing ovation to Mr.Croston !!!
A craftsman masterpiece the rod project and top class features , the performance and building quality of this rod really outcast several overrated overseas top brands .
The balance in between power, precision and fishing performance at any distance is just astonishing, in a windy day the push that you can put on this rod feels like to be endless, on a calm day you can't put your fly like a sniper wherever you want.
Obviously is not a rod suitable for beginners cast skills are needed to squeeze out all the performances of this Formula one fly fishing rod.
This is the second rod I have purchased from sport fish. Great price, great service and delivered on time by DPD! The rod is a 5#. I have used it on still water and the river, with Rio elite gold line. Using leaders, fluoro flex plus on still water and powerflex on rivers. Presentation on still water with light fly is excellent even in wind. Short distance onto river with trees and bushes no problem. Best rod I’ve purchased other than the Zane for saltwater fly fishing in the UK & Florida.
