Best selling floatant for flies or nylon. Gink is the most important product in any fly-fisherman's waistcoat. Used by more fly-fishermen than any other dressing in the world.
Why Choose Gehrke’s Gink Dry Fly Dressing?
Proven dry fly floatant trusted by anglers worldwide
Penetrates feathers, fur, and synthetics for lasting buoyancy
Forms an invisible gel on cold water contact
Prevents flies and streamers from becoming waterlogged Lightweight formula (specific gravity 0.77) – floats longer
Over 40 years of proven performance on UK and international water
Gehrke’s Gink® was the first safe, commercially available dry fly dressing to deliver reliable, repeatable flotation. This liquid formula works by penetrating deeply into the body of a fly, coating synthetic materials or soaking into fur and feather. On contact with cold water it transforms into a clear, invisible gel that prevents dry flies and even fast-retrieved streamers from becoming waterlogged.
With a specific gravity of just 0.77, Gink® is lighter than water, ensuring maximum buoyancy. Trusted by anglers worldwide for over 40 years, it remains the benchmark in dry fly floatants.
To use: Make sure your fly is dry, either straight out the fly box, or after a few false casts, then put a small amount onto your fingers and rub / massage in to your dry flies. It will float dry flies for hours, just redo when it starts sinking. It can also be used on tippets, fly line etc.
