This review is about more than just hooks. My first grandchild was born last week and I wanted to design and name a fly after her using lists of orange, red, white, and blue as her parents are British and Dutch. I had some rough (ie bad) ideas for the design so went into Farlows and asked for help. Sam, an expert fly tier, helped me improve the design into one that would actually catch fish, but which otherwise met my criteria. He also helped me select the necessary tying materials (orange marabou, blue hackle feathers, white chenille body material, red trying thread, and Kamasan B170 hooks in size 8). so "Layla's Liberty" was born. I have tied a couple of presentation flies for the baby, and another batch to fish with. What was really pleasing was the enthusiasm Farlows staff brought to my slightly silly and not very remunerative project. They spent the time with me to make sure I got what I needed and also congratulated me on the arrival of my first grandchild. You can't ask for better service than that. Thank you Farlows.
