Bought one of these reels for my 13 Ft Mackenzie rod last. It was a pleasure to use all season and never let me down. The brake system worked consistenly and smoothly on all the salmon caught and the nice knurling on the brake adjuster was easy to grip even with frozen fingers at the start of the season. Only downside was the larger diameter and slightly greater weight than my old reel (not entirely ultralight but still pretty good). Good finish and nice styling. All in all very satisfied with this reel. (Posted on 05/05/2013)

A: The Hardy Ultralite DD range of fly reels have been designed for freshwater use. The New Hardy Fortuna X Reel and the Hardy Zane reels have been designed for Saltwater applications.
