Fishing effectively in a wide range of conditions is something that seperates those that catch fish and those that fail. If you plan to travel to fish this year surely a course or casting lesson is a sound investment.

This season we are able to offer tuition to customers based in London at Syon Park and also in South Wales. As with the tuition offered at our casting school at Sportfish Reading we can cater for all levels of ability from beginners through to advanced.

Corporate Hospitality/Club Days

This year we will be offering exclusive daily use of Haywards farm Trout Fishery. These days are tailored to your requirements and can include professional tuition and catering. Alternatively, you may wish to have the luxury of a well stocked trout fishery for just you and your friends to fish. We also have meeting facilities for daily hire - why not combine business with pleasure at Sportfish Reading?

Half Day Courses

Introduction to Speycasting £125.00

If you are going salmon fishing for the first time this course will give you a solid foundation. Casting, tackle, clothing and techniques are all covered. (Max 2 people per course)

Introduction to trout fishing £125.00

Starting fly fishing can be daunting. Spending half a day with one of our expert instructors will teach you basic casting, how to choose and set up your tackle and basic knots (max 2 people per course)

One Day Courses

Stillwater course £175.00 - NOW REDUCED TO £99 per person
Enjoy a great days tuition at Sportfish Reading. This course is suited to novice trout fishers and gives a practical overview of stillwater fly fishing, including casting and tackle. This course gives an introduction to fishing with nymphs, lures and dry flies and includes half a days fishing on the lake.

Chalkstream Trout Fishing
The beautiful streams of either the Test or Itchen provide the perfect setting for this popular course. Learn river techniques including upstream dry fly, nymphing and specialist casting styles specific to the river angler. These chalkstream paradises are the perfect classroom.

Grayling Fishing Courses
Spend a day with one of our instructors stalking the 'Lady of the Stream' on a stunning stretch of the river Itchen. Numbers limited to 3 per course.

Fly Tying Course
A comprehensive day of fly tying instruction covering materials, tools and tying techniques. Includes detailed course notes. An ideal introduction to a really rewarding hobby.
